The Steinway
And so you play me,
Like the old Steinway, Heaving with notes and semi quavers, Dancing fingers, dripping in rhythm, Tapping notes with jerks and reaching fingers. You buckle me across the lid Expertly manipulate a chord, D minus, F flat, G G G A sharp. And pressing the key that pushes the hammer that hit’s the string, that vibrates the music inside me. You play me and play me, You know this tune by heart, Each crescendo, undulation, change in tempo, And you play me, Like the old Steinway. |
Alive & Fearful
We were, In the deepest moments of the night,
nimble hands weeping over white skin,
mourning the loss, a tear drenched caress
I remember, i remember your perfume as a tide,
a sweeping ripple of scent across my face,
my nostrils were full of you, of us, the night.
I recall the sounds, the calls, the sighs,
the audible signs of passion, of lust,
the windows shying away, bashful.
I long, i long my love, for those kisses,
when we hung over each-others mouths, alive and fearful.
tasting, tasting, tasting the other.
I fear now in the silent of the night,
the aloneness of without you.
the air, the space, the scentless cavern of your absence,
And i long, i long my darling, for you.
for your hair tangled like clematis through my fingers,
for the wholeness of the moment, completed.
I shall wait, halt in all my doings, all my thoughts.
i shall watch the horizon, the galloping time,
for your breath on my neck, alive and fearful.
The breath, that left me...
Alive and fearful.
nimble hands weeping over white skin,
mourning the loss, a tear drenched caress
The Kiss
When we kiss, suckling your breath,
Tasting you, sharing the warmth of your mouth.
I cling to you lips, scared to fall away.
To leave the safe contours of your soft face.
I lose myself in your arms, the nape of your neck,
The crease of your wide shoulders.
Your gaze, with eyes as bright as stars,
The weighs my presence,
My past and future in a glance.
A silent judgment, eyes wide and wise.
You are my mother, my father, my son my daughter,
My ocean, my moon,
The face I fall into each night,
Each time we kiss…
Tasting you, sharing the warmth of your mouth.
I cling to you lips, scared to fall away.
To leave the safe contours of your soft face.
I lose myself in your arms, the nape of your neck,
The crease of your wide shoulders.
Your gaze, with eyes as bright as stars,
The weighs my presence,
My past and future in a glance.
A silent judgment, eyes wide and wise.
You are my mother, my father, my son my daughter,
My ocean, my moon,
The face I fall into each night,
Each time we kiss…
